The African Tourism Investment Summit (ATIS), part of Africa Travel Week, is set to shine a spotlight on sustainable tourism investment in Africa. The event will feature a range of panel discussions, presentations and events designed to encourage stakeholders to connect, explore solutions and learn from one another. The summit will bring together stakeholders, including industry experts, ministers, and investors, to discuss how African tourism can address cultural, environmental, social and governance concerns.

One of the key highlights of ATIS is the ministerial roundtable on Monday, 3 April, which will feature South African ministers and representatives of Botswana, Jamaica, Spain, and Sierra Leone, in addition to IFC and AFRIEXIM). The BBC will moderate the panel.

Ibrahim Ayoub, CEO of ITIC & Invest Tourism Ltd Group, said that ATIS draws a global audience of influential influencers, including heads of state and financiers. In addition to bringing about many lucrative business deals, the event provided guests with treasured memories while positively impacting Africa’s financial situation.

In addition, the ITIC-WTM ATIS Deal Room will provide a platform for tourism project owners and developers to find investments for their projects. This room will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 3-4 April 2023, and those interested in participating must submit their proposals.

Following this, the ITIC team will provide valuable advice, help negotiate mutually beneficial arrangements, and channel funding into the respective projects, prioritizing sustainable practices such as environmental efficiency, social responsibility, and good governance.
