SUMMARY – HYATT TO EXPAND LUXURY PORTFOLIO IN EUROPE, AFRICA, AND MIDDLE EAST BY OVER 30% THROUGH 2025 WITH 13 NEW HOTELS, CATERING TO RISING DEMAND FOR LUXURY TRAVEL EXPERIENCES AND STRENGTHENING LEADERSHIP POSITION.

Hyatt, a global hospitality brand, is set to expand its luxury portfolio in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME) with the opening of 13 new hotels by 2025. The upcoming hotels will include renowned brands such as Park Hyatt, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Thompson Hotels, Miraval Resorts & Spas, and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. These additions will be located in highly sought-after destinations including the U.K., Spain, South Africa, Austria, and Finland, among others. With this expansion, Hyatt aims to meet the increasing demand for luxury travel experiences and elevate its presence in key growth markets.

Increasing Luxury Footprint in EAME by Over 30%

As leisure travel continues to fuel the recovery of the hospitality industry worldwide, Hyatt recognizes the need to cater to high-end travelers. In 2022, Hyatt successfully opened several luxury hotels, such as La Zambra in Costa Del Sol, 7Pines Resort Sardinia, and Thompson Madrid in Spain. Currently, Hyatt’s luxury inventory accounts for approximately 25% of its distribution in EAME. However, with the planned openings until 2025, the luxury brand’s footprint will expand by over 30% in EAME’s most significant growth markets. This expansion is a testament to Hyatt’s commitment to providing exceptional experiences and unforgettable stays for luxury travelers.

Javier Águila, Group President of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East at Hyatt, emphasized the brand’s dedication to luxury hospitality. He stated that Hyatt’s heritage lies in luxury and that their brands in EAME set a global standard for personalized service and world-class offerings. As the luxury travel market continues to grow, particularly in the EAME region, Hyatt aims to capture a significant portion of this segment. With an impressive pipeline of luxury properties and a diverse portfolio of brands, Hyatt is firmly establishing itself as a leader in luxury hospitality.

Hyatt’s strategic growth plan in EAME includes several significant milestones. The expansion will involve the opening of four Park Hyatt hotels, marking the return of the Park Hyatt brand to London, introducing The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand in Helsinki, and unveiling the first Miraval luxury wellness resort outside of the U.S. on Saudi Arabia’s Shura Island. Each property has been carefully selected to complement Hyatt’s existing luxury brand portfolio and provide immersive experiences inspired by the cultures and stories of their respective locations.
