KASBAH TAMADOT IS BACK WITH SIX NEW RIADS, READY TO OFFER UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES IN THE HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS.
Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s luxurious retreat in Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, has officially reopened. After a year of restoration following a major earthquake, the hotel is back in full operation. This iconic property, part of Virgin Limited Edition’s exclusive collection, had been partially closed for repairs. Now, with new additions and upgrades, Kasbah Tamadot is ready to welcome guests once again.
Kasbah Tamadot: Expanded Accommodation and New Dining Options
The restoration added six brand-new Riads, each set in a beautifully landscaped area offering stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. This expansion increases the property’s room count from 28 to 42. Along with the new accommodations, Kasbah Tamadot introduces a second restaurant, Asayss, promising guests a new culinary experience in an already renowned destination..
Kasbah Tamadot is known for its exceptional Berber hospitality, with all staff being Moroccan. Following the earthquake, the hotel remained a beacon of support for the community. During the year-long restoration, the Berber Tents stayed open, maintaining tourism and providing aid. The hotel’s charitable wing, The Eve Branson Foundation, played a key role in relief efforts, raising £1 million for earthquake recovery.
Luxurious New Riads and Unique Amenities
The newly designed Riads are a highlight of Kasbah Tamadot’s reopening. Each Riad can accommodate up to 10 guests, with three bedrooms, private bathrooms, and lounges. A standout feature is the Rooftop Tented Suite, complete with a hot tub and breathtaking views. Guests will also enjoy private pools and traditional Moroccan decor, crafted by local Berber artisans supported by The Eve Branson Foundation.
The Riads are available for individual bookings or exclusive use, making them ideal for families or groups seeking a private experience. These additions blend seamlessly with the hotel’s established accommodations, including the famous luxury Berber Tents, each with a private terrace and some with hot tubs.
Kasbah Tamadot continues to offer a range of authentic Moroccan experiences. Guests can enjoy the infinity pool with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains, traditional Hammam spa treatments, and Moroccan cooking classes. The hotel also provides guided hiking and cycling tours, allowing visitors to explore the natural beauty of the region.
Sir Richard Branson praised the resilience of the local community during the challenging times. He emphasized the warmth and hospitality of the Berber people, despite the personal losses many endured. According to Branson, Kasbah Tamadot has emerged stronger, and he expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to its revival. The new Riads, he believes, would have been a source of pride for his late mother.
David Redouane Assabbab, General Manager of Kasbah Tamadot, expressed excitement about the reopening. He thanked loyal guests who supported the hotel and its community over the past year, highlighting that the upcoming months are already filling up with bookings. The reimagined Kasbah Tamadot stands ready to deliver its unique charm to new and returning visitors.
