Marriott International has launched the “Connect Responsibly” program to promote sustainable meetings across its Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. The initiative provides meeting planners with tools to assess the environmental impact of events, offering options to offset carbon emissions. The program will be available globally at participating hotels by the end of October.

To enhance transparency, “Connect Responsibly” offers a Meeting Impact Report, which calculates an event’s carbon and water footprints using hospitality industry methods. This report also highlights specific sustainability practices used at each property, supporting Marriott’s commitment to eco-friendly hospitality.

Fueled by demand for sustainable meeting solutions, the Meeting Impact Report will be available in 11 languages, making it accessible for global clients. “Our customers want to contribute to sustainability, and ‘Connect Responsibly’ offers them tools to track their event impacts,” said Tammy Routh, Marriott’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales.

This initiative aligns with Marriott’s broader sustainability goals. In April 2024, Marriott became the first major hotel group to secure Science Based Targets initiative approval for its emissions reduction targets. “Connect Responsibly” also supports Marriott’s Serve 360 platform, aimed at promoting social and environmental responsibility.
