Radisson Hotel Group is taking substantial steps to amplify its presence in Africa. The Brand is inking deals for seven new hotels that will contribute over 1,400 rooms to its African portfolio. This expansion covers a spectrum of brands, spanning upscale to premium luxury lifestyle. It encompasses both market entries and the introduction of new brands in crucial African markets.

New Hotels in Africa and Brand Introductions

Following are Radisson’s new hotel projects in Africa:

Egyptian Delight: Radisson Collection Resort, Marsa Alam Port Phoenice

In early 2025, Egypt will welcome the Radisson Collection Resort, Marsa Alam Port Phoenice. This premium lifestyle resort will be located at Port Phoenice on the Red Sea, offering 294 rooms, including 20 suites, featuring Mediterranean and Italian architectural influences. This new hotel in Africa will provide various dining options, fitness facilities, a theater, kids club, and direct beach access.

Nigerian Trio: Radisson Expands in Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, will witness the arrival of three new Radisson group hotels. Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center, Abuja, will be the city’s first luxury hotel, with diverse room options and expansive meeting spaces. Opening in early 2025, Radisson Blu Hotel Abuja CBD will grace the Central Business District with dining, fitness, and extensive event spaces. Radisson Red Lagos VI will introduce the upscale Radisson Red brand to Nigeria’s Lagos with modern amenities and flexible event areas.

Gambia’s Introduction: Radisson Blu Beach Resort, Banjul

Gambia will see its first internationally branded hotel, Radisson Blu Beach Resort & Spa, Banjul, open in early 2025. This expansive resort in the capital city, Bijilo region, will offer contemporary rooms, presidential apartments, and a variety of dining options. Additionally, a fitness center and extensive meetings and events facilities will be available.

Radisson’s Kenyan Debut: Radisson Hotel Nairobi Airport

Scheduled to open in mid-2027, Radisson Hotel Nairobi Airport will be the group’s first property in Kenya. With convenient access to JK International Airport, this new build will offer dining, fitness, and relaxation amenities, along with well-equipped meetings and events spaces.

Algerian Ventures: Radisson Hotel Algiers El Mouradia

Radisson Hotel Algiers El Mouradia, Algeria’s second Radisson property, is set to open in mid-2026. This 148-room hotel, located in Algiers’ sought-after district, will provide various dining experiences, leisure facilities, and flexible meetings and events spaces.

New Hotels In Africa: Progress Towards Objectives

Elie Younes, EVP and Global CDO at Radisson Hotel Group, emphasizes the group’s growth momentum in Africa with seven new signings in 2023, showcasing commitment to enhancing the African hospitality industry.

Ramsay Rankoussi, VP of Development for Africa and Turkey, highlights the group’s remarkable pipeline-to-opening conversion rate, reflecting consistent growth and positioning Radisson as a key player in the African hospitality landscape.
