Hyatt is strengthening its growth journey in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME). They have appointed two new Senior Vice Presidents to support this expansion.

Peter Norman, leading Hyatt’s development in the region since 2006, is now SVP Corporate Development and Owner Relations for EAME. He will focus on strategic owner relations and expanding the portfolio. Felicity Black-Roberts, formerly Vice President Development for Western Europe, has been promoted to SVP Development for EAME.

Hyatt’s Significant Growth in EAME Region

The EAME region is crucial for Hyatt’s global expansion. Over the past five years, Hyatt achieved 79% growth in EAME. This growth strategy focused on capital cities and urban centers, which laid the foundation for expanding into secondary destinations, resorts, and leisure spaces.

Javier Águila, Group President EAME, stated that their strengthened development and transactions structure will explore new growth avenues. This will accelerate expansion into new markets and segments.

Peter Norman emphasized maintaining and expanding relationships with existing hotel owners and franchisees. Their loyal ownership community significantly contributes to the pipeline, propelling growth in EAME.

Felicity Black-Roberts is excited about her new role. She looks forward to working with the expanded team. The EAME Development Team is well-equipped to contribute to Hyatt’s overall growth.

Leadership and Team Additions

Felicity will lead Hyatt’s growth initiatives across EAME. Her team includes Anna Corkill as Regional Vice President of Development for the UK and Ireland, Gabriela Basovska as Director of Development for Northern Europe, and Carlos Paredes as Director of Development for Southern Europe.

In 2023, Hyatt created a new regional transactions role. Jaime de la Mata, appointed as Vice President Portfolio Development and Transactions EAME, will drive inorganic asset-light growth throughout EAME.

These appointments enable Hyatt to cover various geographies with dedicated resources. They are dividing Europe into Western & Northern, Southern, and Central & Eastern territories. This sub-regional split allows for a more localized and tailored approach to Hyatt’s global growth strategy.

Hyatt recently celebrated its seventh consecutive year of net room growth, with a global record pipeline of 129,000 rooms. The EAME Development Team is ready to continue this impressive growth trajectory.
