Newmark Appoints New Directors to Drive Growth
NEWMARK APPOINTS NEW DIRECTORS TO DRIVE GROWTH. EXPERIENCED LEADERS JOIN TO STRENGTHEN REVENUE, SALES, AND OPERATIONS.
Newmark Hotels & Reserves has welcomed three new directors to drive its growth strategy. This move will strengthen the Cape Town-based hospitality company’s revenue, sales, and marketing departments.
Following are these three new appointments:
New Director of Marketing at Newmark
Keaton Quarmby, the new Director of Marketing, brings 20 years of experience. She started at New Balance and then moved to The Westin Cape Town Hotel and Sheraton Pretoria Hotel. Keaton later became Group Marketing Executive at Falke. Two years ago, she joined Newmark as Head of Marketing during a time of significant growth. Keaton restructured the department, bringing all marketing functions in-house to offer comprehensive solutions for each Newmark property.
new Director of Sales
Bianca Pontac steps into the role of Director of Sales with 12 years of senior sales management experience. She began her hospitality career in Port Elizabeth and rose to Senior Sales Manager at Radisson. Bianca moved to the Western Cape and became Director of Corporate Sales at Radisson Red Cape Town. In 2020, she joined Newmark and has since fostered a respectful and nonjudgmental culture, helping to develop new industry leaders.
New Director of Revenue
Andrea Fialkov, the new Director of Revenue, has 14 years of experience in revenue management. After earning a BSC in Genetic Engineering, she discovered her passion for hospitality while working on a cruise ship. Back in South Africa, she joined The Westin Cape Town Hotel and worked her way up over 12 years. Andrea then became a Revenue Executive and later a Multi-Property Revenue Manager. She joined Newmark in 2022 and has been crucial in identifying market trends, introducing automated revenue systems, and optimizing revenue.
“I am very proud and excited to announce the appointment of Keaton, Bianca, and Andrea into their new roles,” said Mike Vroom, COO of Newmark Hotels & Reserves. “All three have proven track records and bring extensive experience. Their knowledge will be invaluable as we drive our strategic initiatives, commercial strategy, and growth across Africa. These appointments also reflect our commitment to retaining top talent and ensuring effective leadership.”
Expanded Operations Team
Newmark has also expanded its operations department to provide better support for its hotels. Directors of Operations, Michael Liffmann and Janus Schoeman, will oversee properties in South Africa and Africa, respectively. Additionally, Theunie Marais joins as Regional Operations Manager. This team is supported by Group Head Chef, Chris Erasmus, and Group Sommelier, Marlvin Gwese.
Newmark’s growth strategy aims to enhance its portfolio and maintain top-tier service across all properties. By appointing experienced leaders, Newmark ensures strong leadership and continued success in the hospitality industry.
