South Africa; Cape Town, 25 August 2023 — Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, a historic gem in Stellenbosch, is set to introduce a new boutique accommodation concept. The iconic estate, renowned for its wines, will see the inception of a modern lodging nestled within its grounds.

Newmark Hotels & Reserves, a Cape Town-based hospitality firm, will steer the project. Their partnership agreement with the wine estate entails the management of all accommodations on the property, totalling 34 units. That includes the new boutique offering, projected to debut in Q1 2025.

Embracing History: blaauwklippen’s Legacy

Founded in 1682, Blaauwklippen is Stellenbosch’s oldest wine farm. Originating from land granted to Gerrit Jansz Visscher, it flourished with its first vines in 1688 and its inaugural wine in 1709. Today, the estate boasts a diverse array of premier wines and is a bustling visitor hub.

A lavish expansion awaits as a new upscale accommodation facility is set to grace the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate. Overlooking vineyards and Stellenbosch mountains, this luxurious addition will seamlessly blend with the estate’s existing architecture. The construction is expected to span 18 to 20 months.
