Radisson Hotel Group, a leading hotel company in Africa, is set to strengthen its presence on the continent with the signing of seven new hotels, adding over 1,400 rooms to its African portfolio. The Group’s ambitious expansion plans for Africa include market entries in Gambia, Nigeria, Egypt, and Kenya, as well as the introduction of premium lifestyle brands. This year alone, the Group plans to open at least seven new hotels, adding over 1,400 rooms to its existing portfolio. The Group is opening its first-ever properties in Reunion Island and Ghana, and expanding in Casablanca and Saidia in Morocco, South Africa, Egypt, and Tunisia.

During the Africa Hotel Investment Forum, Ramsay Rankoussi, the VP of Development for Africa & Turkey at Radisson Hotel Group, announced the signing of seven new hotels, further expanding the Group’s presence on the continent. Rankoussi acknowledged that the Group has consistently achieved the largest market share in Africa for the past 36 months, reflecting a remarkable 15 percent year-on-year growth in the African portfolio. With this growth, Radisson Hotel Group is well on its way to reaching its goal of operating 150 hotels within the next five years.

Hotel Signings by Radisson Hotel Group in Africa

Radisson Resort, Marsa Alam Port Phoenice (Egypt)

Scheduled to open in early 2025, this premium lifestyle resort will introduce the Radisson Collection brand to Egypt. Located in Port Phoenice on the Red Sea, the resort will offer 294 rooms, including 20 suites, blending Mediterranean and Italian architecture. Guests can enjoy various amenities, including multiple dining options, a fitness center, a diving center, a theater, and direct beach access.

Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, Abuja (Nigeria)

Set to open soon, this new luxury hotel in Nigeria’s capital city will join the Radisson Collection portfolio. With 249 rooms and extensive meeting spaces, the hotel will provide a range of accommodation options and state-of-the-art facilities. Its prime location near the Presidential Palace and popular attractions makes it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Radisson Blu Beach Resort & Spa, Banjul (Gambia)

As the first internationally branded hotel in Gambia, this 462-room resort is currently under construction and scheduled to open in early 2025. Situated in Banjul, the capital city, the resort will offer contemporary rooms, presidential apartments, multiple dining outlets, a fitness and wellness center, and a spacious events space with beach access.

Radisson Blu Hotel Abuja CBD (Nigeria)

Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of the first Radisson Blu hotel in Nigeria’s capital city, following the recent signing of Radisson Collection Abuja. The 104-room hotel, set to open in early 2025, will be located in Abuja’s Central Business District, offering a stylish piano bar, an all-day dining restaurant, fitness and wellness facilities, and versatile meeting and event spaces.

Radisson RED Lagos VI (Nigeria)

Anticipation is high for the debut of the upscale Radisson RED brand in Nigeria with the opening of the Radisson RED Lagos VI. With 62 rooms, this hotel is the 11th property in Nigeria and the 7th in Lagos. Guests can expect unique food and beverage concepts, a vibrant lobby bar, an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop bar and terrace, a gym, a pool, and flexible meeting and event spaces.

Radisson Hotel Nairobi Airport

Radisson Hotel Group is expanding its presence in Kenya with the upcoming opening of Radisson Hotel Nairobi Airport, its fourth hotel in the country. Expected to open in mid-2027, the 200-room hotel will be conveniently located near JK International Airport, making it easily accessible for both leisure and business travelers. Positioned just 22km away from Nairobi National Park, guests can enjoy the proximity to the city’s renowned wildlife sanctuary. The hotel will boast a range of amenities including a lobby bar, all-day dining restaurant, fitness center, spa, pool, retail unit, and crew lounge. Radisson Hotel Algiers El Mouradia

In Algeria, Radisson Hotel Group is preparing to launch Radisson Hotel Algiers El Mouradia as its second property in the country, alongside Radisson Hotel, La Baie d’Alger. Expected to open in mid-2026, this 148-room hotel will be located in the prestigious El Mouradia district, known for housing the Algerian presidency, ministries, and embassies. It enjoys a prime location near the city center, the Port of Algiers, and is just 15km west of Algiers International Airport. The hotel will offer an array of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a signature restaurant, a juice bar, and a sky bar with expansive terraces. It will also feature a coffee bar, coworking space, ballroom, conference room, multiple meeting rooms, swimming pool, retail area, spa, hair salon, and sport and fitness gym, providing guests with a perfect blend of work and leisure facilities.
