At the Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF), Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Development Officer of Radisson Hotel Group, spoke about the Group’s accelerated growth and expansion in the continent. He emphasized their balanced development strategy, tailored approach, and responsiveness, which enable them to stay relevant to their owners. The Group’s rapid materialization and numerous hotel openings serve as a testament to the quality of their pipeline and their successful conversion strategy in repositioning existing hotels under the Radisson Hotel Group brands. With nine hotel openings anticipated in 2023 alone, the Group’s presence in the region will be further strengthened.

Key markets for their expansion plan include Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Cameroon, Senegal, and Ivory Coast, demonstrating equal prioritization for both Francophone and Anglophone countries.

Continued Expansion and Future Openings of Radisson Hotel Group in Africa

In 2022, Radisson Hotel Group made significant strides in entering new African markets. They expanded their presence in Madagascar with three hotels, becoming the largest international operator on the island. Additionally, they signed the first Radisson-branded hotel in East Africa, Radisson Hotel Addis Ababa Bole Airport, and introduced the Radisson Individuals brand to the continent with the opening of two new properties in Ghana and Egypt.

Radisson Blu, the Group’s fastest growing hotel brand in Africa, was awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Hotel Brand’ at the prestigious World Travel Awards, solidifying its reputation for quality and excellence.

Radisson Hotel Group has continued its growth trajectory with several recent announcements. They opened South Sudan’s first internationally branded 5-star hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, Juba, and signed an agreement for Radisson Resort Dakar Saly in Senegal.
