SUN INTERNATIONAL AND LIVRES HAVE PARTNERED TO CREATE A MIXED-USE LIFESTYLE ESTATE AT CARNIVAL CITY, COVERING 50 HECTARES WITH SEPARATE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS CONNECTED TO COMMERCIAL AND LIFESTYLE COMPONENTS.

Sun International and LivRES have recently announced their partnership to develop a brand-new mixed-use lifestyle estate at Carnival City, situated in Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg. The Lifestyle Estate is set to cover 50 hectares of land. It will include a combination of secure residential districts, commercial areas and lifestyle components, creating an immersive and integrated community experience for residents.

The land, which was originally purchased by Sun International over 20 years ago to construct a casino complex, has undergone significant changes since the opening of the R1-billion Carnival City Casino and entertainment complex in November 2000. With the surrounding area experiencing greater development and growing demand for a more diverse range of offerings, Sun International teamed up with LivRES Property Developers to create a new fully-integrated community lifestyle experience that reflects the evolving needs of the local community.

LivRES is a well-known developer specializing in creating contemporary, sustainable and modern developments in vibrant destinations. The company is committed to offering homeowners and investors an affordable, top-of-the-line residential lifestyle experience that is both environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. The buildings on the estate will be fitted with solar and generator backup systems to ensure an uninterrupted supply of energy. At the same time, sustainable fixtures and fittings will be installed to conserve energy and water.

The estate will consist of separate villages, commercial and retail areas, a private school, a lifestyle center, and a village-style retail center. In addition, a central park featuring a range of high-quality open space and recreational amenities will be incorporated into the development, providing residents with an idyllic place to unwind and enjoy nature. The first development to be completed will be the East Village, which will comprise 30 affordable residential units offering one or two-bedroom apartments. The developers anticipate that construction of the first units will begin by April 2024, with the first apartments ready for occupation by December 2024.

The development is also conveniently located, providing easy access to the N17 highway, which connects the estate to Johannesburg and takes less than 30 minutes to reach OR Tambo International Airport. Overall, the Sun International and LivRES partnership is set to transform the local area and provide a new benchmark for mixed-use lifestyle estates in the region.
