Uganda Wins Best Organizer Award at China International Tourism Industry Expo 2024
UGANDA WON THE BEST ORGANIZER AWARD AT CHINA INTERNATIONAL TOURISM INDUSTRY EXPO FOR OUTSTANDING TOURISM PROMOTION EFFORTS. THE CONSULATE IN GUANGZHOU PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN UGANDA’S TOURISM GROWTH.
Uganda secured the prestigious Best Organizer Award at the China International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) 2024. The event, held in Guangzhou, China, from September 13 to 15, showcased Uganda’s cultural heritage, wildlife, and natural beauty. This effort aimed to attract more Chinese tourists and investors.
Uganda Shines at China International Tourism Industry Expo 2024
The Ugandan Embassy in Beijing and the Ugandan Consulate General in Guangzhou played key roles in promoting the country’s tourism potential. They set up an impressive stall at the expo, drawing significant attention with their innovative displays of Uganda’s rich culture and diverse wildlife. Visitors were particularly fascinated by Uganda’s Big Five animals, including lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes. Natural wonders like waterfalls, national parks, freshwater lakes, and hot springs also captivated attendees.
CITIE 2024 is China’s largest international tourism expo. It covered 40,000 square meters and hosted 500 tourism service providers from over 50 countries. This year’s event attracted 43,000 visitors, creating a massive platform for countries like Uganda to engage with tourists and investors. By participating, Uganda gained the chance to promote its tourism industry. The country also highlights investment opportunities in a recovering global tourism market.
Uganda’s Consul-General, Ms. Nsababera, expressed her delight upon receiving the CITIE 2024 award during the closing ceremony on September 15. She highlighted that this recognition reflects the consulate’s dedication to promoting Uganda as a prime tourist destination. Ms. Nsababera further mentioned that Uganda has been invited to co-organize next year’s CITIE, cementing its growing influence on the international tourism stage.
The CITIE 2024 event also presented awards in categories like Best Supporting Unit, Best Design Prize, Best Travel Agency, and Best Airlines, showcasing a variety of international tourism achievements.
