Zimbabwe Promotes Investment Opportunities at Africa Hospitality Investment Forum 2023

SUMMARY – ZIMBABWE SHOWCASES INVESTMENT POTENTIAL AT AHIF 2023, ATTRACTS INVESTORS’ INTEREST. MASHONALAND HOLDINGS AND TIME HOTEL MANAGEMENT PARTNER FOR DEVELOPMENT OF FOUR-STAR HOTEL IN VICTORIA FALLS, ADDING 130 ROOMS.


The Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry, in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), participated in the Africa Hospitality Investment Forum  (AHIF) 2023 held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The forum served as a platform to showcase Zimbabwe and position it as a prime investment destination. With its reputation as the leading hospitality investment forum on the continent, the event presented excellent opportunities to promote investments.

Investors who attended the hospitality forum displayed keen interest in exploring investment prospects in Zimbabwe. They acknowledged the government’s efforts in attracting investments for the tourism sector.

Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu from the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry was accompanied by Ms. during his visit tO AHIF 2023. She provided Minister Ndlovu with an overview of the available business opportunities in the tourism sector.

CEO of ZTA, held meetings with CEO of Time Hotel Management, and Managing Director of Mashonaland Holdings. Time Hotel Management, a United Arab Emirates-based hotel group, expressed interest in expanding its brand to Zimbabwe. Mashonaland Holdings, a local property investment and development company, is set to construct a four-star hotel in Victoria Falls.

Partnership for Hotel Development

At AHIF 2023, It is finalized that Mashonaland Holdings and Time Hotel Management will collaborate on the hotel project. That project will contribute an additional 130 rooms to the Victoria Falls destination. Mashonaland Holdings has already identified suitable land for the development, and ZTA will assist in facilitating the acquisition process.

The construction of the project will take approximately 15 months. By actively participating in the Africa Hospitality Investment Forum 2023, Zimbabwe has successfully showcased its potential as an attractive investment hub in the tourism sector. The positive response from participants and the engagement with industry leaders are promising signs for the country’s future growth and development.
