Global Humane, a prominent advocate for animal welfare, launches the Humane Tourism™ program to foster responsible tourism. As people worldwide seek connections with wildlife, the organization leverages its expertise to create a unique certification.

Mantis Leads the Way

Mantis, a renowned eco-hotel brand within the Accor Group, sets a remarkable precedent by becoming the first recipient of the prestigious Global Humane Certified™ designation for Humane Tourism™. This acknowledgment underscores Mantis’s commitment to stringent animal welfare standards.

In August 2023, comprehensive audits of Mantis facilities in Southern Africa verified compliance with the certification requirements. The certified sites include Nyosi Wildlife Reserve and select Mantis properties in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana, with plans to expand certification to other Mantis locations in the future.

Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of Global Humane, expresses excitement at Mantis’s achievement, emphasizing the brand’s prioritization of animal welfare. The certification aims to inspire people to engage with wildlife in their natural habitats and join the vital conservation efforts amidst the ongoing “Sixth Mass Extinction.”
