CVENT REVEALS TOP MEETING DESTINATIONS AND HOTELS IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA FOR 2023, SHOWCASING INDUSTRY RESILIENCE AND RENEWED OPPORTUNITIES.


Cvent, a leading tech company for meetings and events, released their lists of the top destinations and hotels for conferences and events in the Middle East and Africa. These lists rank the most popular places and venues for business events based on data from Cvent’s platform where people plan meetings and events. This is the first time Cvent has released these rankings since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 which majorly disrupted the events industry.

“Technology has changed how the events industry markets themselves and attracts new business. The pandemic showed how important in-person events are for local economies. Our lists highlight the destinations and hotels that have bounced back by quickly shifting to hosting live events again. After four long years, we’re excited to share these insights again to help event planners find great options and help hotels and destinations stand out to gain more events business,” said Cvent’s Vice President of International Sales.

The Top Meeting Destinations:

The Middle East and Africa have led the recovery of the travel industry after the pandemic. Cities in these regions have attracted more events by adapting to changes and investing in new attractions. While Dubai kept the top spot from 2019, new cities on the list include Istanbul and Antalya in Turkey, Muscat in Oman, and Tel Aviv in Israel.

The Top Meeting Hotels:

Many hotels used 2020 and 2021 to renovate and upgrade to prepare for more travel and appeal to new guest expectations after the pandemic. New hotels on the top 10 list like the InterContinental Istanbul and Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights recently finished major renovations. Hotels with state-of-the-art event venues also ranked highly, showing their value for attracting business events.
