Hilton Expands Portfolio in Morocco with Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay

Hilton has signed an agreement to launch Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay, its new hotel that will open in 2026, marking the introduction of the Canopy by Hilton brand in Tangier, Morocco.

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has recently announced that it has signed an agreement to establish Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay, a new hotel that will introduce Hilton’s brand to the city of Tangier. The hotel is expected to open in 2026 and will feature 110 guest rooms and suites with unique designs. Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay will have three dining venues, including the Canopy Central concept, which will serve as the hotel’s social hub.

It will also have various amenities, such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa, a fitness center, and flexible meeting and event spaces.
As per Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s vice president of development for the Middle East and Africa, the agreement to launch Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay strengthens the corporation’s dedication to enlarge its portfolio in Morocco, where it aims to increase its presence twofold in the future years.

Tangier, located between the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, is one of the biggest centers for the industry in Morocco and offers numerous cultural attractions, such as the Grand Socco Medina, the Kasbah Museum, and the Caves of Hercules. The hotel will be located at a distance of three kilometers from Tangier’s city center, four kilometers from the railway station, and approximately 20 kilometers from the Ibn Battuta International Airport.

Conrad Rabat Arzana, Hilton Taghazout Bay Beach Resort & Spa, Hilton Tanger City Center Hotel & Residences, Hilton Tangier Al Houara Resort & Spa, Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Centre, and Hilton Garden Inn Casablanca Sud are among the six hotels that Hilton currently operates in different destinations across Morocco. It is also developing another six properties. Canopy by Hilton Tangier Bay is part of the brand’s expansion across Africa, where it aims to introduce vibrant neighborhoods in different cities, such as Tangier, Cape Town, and Seychelles.
