InterContinental Hotels and Resorts (IHG) has signed franchise agreements to rebrand three properties in Tanzania and Kenya, rapidly expanding its presence across Africa. The continent’s profile continues to grow, and IHG aims to capitalize on this trend. The properties, namely Holiday Inn Nairobi Two Rivers Mall and The Fairview Nairobi in Kenya, and Crowne Plaza Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, are now open to guests. IHG Hotels and Resorts, in collaboration with the new owners, Msafiri Limited, will enhance the guest experience by renovating and upgrading the properties, incorporating IHG’s renowned brand standards.

Holiday Inn Nairobi Two Rivers Mall
Situated in the vibrant Gigiri/Runda district of northern Nairobi, the Holiday Inn Nairobi Two Rivers Mall is an ideal destination. Under IHG’s ownership, the Fairview will undergo a sensitive refurbishment and operate under one of IHG’s boutique brands. Apart from providing upscale hospitality, the hotel’s renowned restaurant and bars will be further enhanced. The new ownership’s investment aims to have a positive impact socially, environmentally, and economically. The Fairview team has already begun engaging in new skills training and incorporating greater social awareness into their operations. Following the refurbishment, the hotel also plans to achieve a substantial reduction in energy consumption.
Crowne Plaza, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Located in the central business district of Dar es Salaam, Crowne Plaza Dar es Salaam is poised to attract high demand from business travelers and leisure guests. Business travelers visiting Tanzania’s commercial center will find the hotel convenient, while leisure guests can explore Dar es Salaam and enjoy Taarab music before embarking on their journey to Tanzania’s renowned destinations like the Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro.
