Radisson Hotel Group continues to break records in Africa with its ambitious expansion plans, aiming to have 150 hotels across the continent within the next five years. The group has almost 100 hotels and 16,000 rooms in operation or under development, with 14 hotels opened and over 25 new hotels signed in the last two years alone.

The group’s focus markets for expansion in 2023 are Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt, as well as new markets of interest such as Gambia, Cameroon, Ghana, Tanzania, and Seychelles. In 2022, the group entered several new African markets, including Madagascar, and introduced its Radisson Individuals brand to the continent with the opening of Marina Resort Port Ghalib in Egypt. The group also expanded its portfolio in South Africa with the opening of the Radisson Blu Hotel Durban Umhlanga and its upcoming Safari Hotel in Hoedspruit, the group’s first safari resort in the country. The group also signed agreements for new hotels in Egypt and Cameroon, both opening in 2024.
