TUI Group is gearing up to expand its hotel business in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on key destinations like Cape Verde, The Gambia, Senegal, Tanzania, and Kenya. The move includes the introduction of a new upscale brand, “The Mora Zanzibar,” offering contemporary luxury experiences.
Managing Director of TUI Blue, Artur Gerber, emphasizes the group’s commitment to creating diverse hotel experiences for various target groups, from budget-conscious travelers to luxury seekers. The launch of “The Mora” aligns with this strategy, promising tailored luxury and flexible service.
TUI Group: Expanding Footprint in East Africa
TUI Blue’s expansion also extends to East Africa, with plans for the first TUI BLUE hotel in Kenya, “TUI BLUE Watamu,” in Kilifi County. This project, developed by Sands of Darakasi Resorts Limited, exemplifies TUI Group’s collaboration model in developing new hotels on the continent.
TUI Group highlights its partnership approach in developing new hotels, exemplified by its collaboration with Valor Hospitality Partners. However, the focus in East Africa is on key destinations like Mauritius, Tanzania, and Kenya, indicating a strategic growth trajectory.
TUI Hotels & Resorts currently boasts over 90 hotels with more than 30,000 rooms across seven African countries, signaling a steady growth trajectory in the region. The group aims to contribute to the development of the African hospitality industry while catering to diverse traveler preferences.
