Zimbabwe Showcases Unique Tourism Products at Africa’s Travel Indaba

OVER 30 ZIMBABWEAN TOURISM OPERATORS ARE SHOWCASING THE COUNTRY’S UNIQUE TOURISM PRODUCTS AT AFRICA’S TRAVEL INDABA IN DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA, TO ATTRACT INTERNATIONAL BUYERS AND MEDIA. ZIMBABWE IS FOCUSING ON THE SOUTH AFRICAN MARKET AND AIMS TO INCREASE INFLOWS BY 20% AFTER RECEIVING SIGNIFICANT BUSINESS FROM THE COUNTRY LAST YEAR.


More than 30 Zimbabwean tourism operators, led by the Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, attend Africa’s Travel Indaba tourism trade showcase in Durban, South Africa. The event runs from today until Thursday. The aim is to promote Zimbabwe’s unique tourism products at Africa’s largest travel trade show and attract international buyers and media from across the globe.

The event is a significant marketing opportunity on the African and global tourism calendar, and Zimbabwe is increasing its participation from last year’s 24 operators to more than 30 this year. The CEO of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), Ms Winnie Muchanyuka, is impressed with the level of participation and believes that Zimbabwe will make a lasting impression.

The South African market is a particular focus for Zimbabwe, intending to increase inflows by at least 20% after receiving significant business from the country last year. The show is an opportunity to showcase top-drawer tourism products and create market access for African leisure tourism products.
