Attitude Hotels to Open Eco-Hotel in Zanzibar
SUMMARY – ATTITUDE HOTELS EXPANDS BEYOND MAURITIUS WITH AN ECO-HOTEL IN ZANZIBAR, SHOWCASING COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN COLLABORATION WITH ASILIA AFRICA. THE PROPERTY, LOCATED ON THE NORTHEASTERN TIP, WILL OFFER 65 ROOMS AFTER RENOVATIONS, CONTRIBUTING TO ATTITUDE HOTELS’ MILESTONE YEAR CELEBRATION.
Attitude Hotels, known for its sustainable approach to tourism, is expanding beyond Mauritius with the opening of a new eco-hotel in Zanzibar.
It has entered into a binding agreement with Asilia Lodges and Camps Ltd, also known as Asilia Africa, to acquire Matemwe Bungalows Zaswi (Z) Ltd in Zanzibar. This agreement includes the ownership and operation of Matemwe Lodge, Matemwe Retreat, and Matemwe Beach House.
The necessary approvals from local authorities are anticipated to be finalized by November 30, 2023.
Situated on the northeastern tip of the island, the property covers 20 acres of land and is conveniently located near the protected Mnemba Atoll, famous for its diving and snorkeling reefs. Attitude Hotels plans to renovate the existing property and transform it into a 65-room hotel.
