IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a Management Agreement with Akam Al Rajhi, a joint venture between AkamAlRajhi and Al Rajhi Saudi groups. This strategic move by IHG aims to strengthen its presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region while embracing the rich culture and vibrant tourism industry of Egypt.
The signing of the agreement marks the introduction of the first voco resort in the region, catering to the increasing demand for leisure destinations along Egypt’s North Coast. Stretching 1,050km along the Mediterranean Sea, this picturesque area is renowned for its captivating arts, sports, and entertainment events, making it one of Egypt’s most alluring leisure spots.
Scheduled to open in December 2026, the 300-key voco North Coast will be a stunning beachfront resort featuring low-rise buildings, chalets, and townhouses. Strategically positioned as part of the DOSE Village North Coast secure gated community, the resort will offer breathtaking 360-degree views of the pristine beach.
The voco North Coast resort will not only cater to leisure travelers but also embrace the growing trend of wellness-focused tourism. The resort will boast natural landscapes, artificial lakes, a swimming pool, spa, health club, running and biking tracks, a shopping mall, a waterpark (DOSE Aqua Park), and diverse dining options. Additionally, for travelers seeking both relaxation and productivity, the resort will provide meeting and event spaces spanning approximately 1,375 sqm. Located just 23km from Egypt’s new Al Alamein Airport, the new voco resort offers a tranquil coastal escape within close proximity to the bustling city of Alexandria Matrouh.
