African Luxury Hotels to Increase Expenditure on Technology and Security, Says Global Research

According to a global research commissioned by Communications Specialist Ltd, the high-end African luxury hotel sector is expected to significantly boost its investment in technology and communication systems in the next three years.

Senior executives of African luxury hotel chains were interviewed for the research. Over half (54 percent) of these executives anticipate a spending increase of 20 to 50 percent in the sector, while 16 percent expect an even higher rise.
The executives also predict a surge in expenditure on security. Six out of ten (60 percent) of those interviewed foresee a spending increase of over 30 percent between now and 2026.

Motivation for Increased Investment
The primary reason for this planned expenditure on communication systems and security is the sector’s current operational efficiency levels. Only 20 percent of senior African luxury hotel executives consider the levels “excellent,” while 70 percent describe them as “good” and 10 percent as “average.”
To address this concern, 32 percent of executives expect a significant improvement in operational efficiency over the next three years. Additionally, 56 percent expect a slight improvement.
