The African Tourism Forum is set to make its mark in Sharm El Sheikh from May 20-21, 2024. Organized by GMT Fair, this forum aims to be a game-changer, drawing over 2,000 professionals from various corners of the tourism industry. With Sharm El Sheikh International Conference Center as its venue and Rixos Hotels Egypt as the accommodation sponsor, the event aims to be a hub of innovation and collaboration.

Since its inception, GMT Fair has been pioneering new concepts in tourism exhibitions, with the Antalya Tourism Fair in 2019 being a prime example. Now, with the launch of the African Tourism Forum, GMT Fair is expanding its reach to Africa, aiming to unlock the continent’s vast tourism potential.

“The African Tourism Forum Marks an Innovative Beginning”

Selçuk Meral, Chairman of GMT Fuarcılık, expressed his vision for the African Tourism Forum, drawing parallels with the success of the Antalya Tourism Fair. He envisions the forum as a catalyst for change, a platform. By establishing an annual tradition, starting from 2024, the forum also aims to become a cornerstone event in Africa’s tourism calendar.

The sponsorship of Rixos Hotels Egypt adds another layer of significance to the African Tourism Forum. Erkan Yıldırım, CEO and Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, sees this partnership as an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the tourism industry in Egypt and Africa. Beyond providing luxury accommodations, Rixos Hotels Egypt aims to foster cooperation, innovation, and communication within the sector.

Through conferences, panels, B2B meetings, and specialized courses, participants will have the opportunity to explore new avenues, forge partnerships, and unlock potential investment opportunities. By fostering collaboration across borders, the forum also aims to create a more resilient and inclusive tourism sector.

About GMT Fair Organization / General Management of Trade Show

GMT Fair revolutionized the exhibition landscape by introducing a novel concept focused on business meetings tailored for tourism professionals. In 2019, they launched the ATF Forums series with the Antalya Tourism Fair, aiming to unite industry stakeholders, investors, policymakers, and decision-makers on both national and international levels. With a focus on on-site marketing principles, the ATF Forums facilitated individual business meetings, attracting over 20,000 professional participants and 2,000 travel agencies annually every October. GMT Africa, an arm of GMT Fair, now seeks to spotlight the tourism potential of the African continent through initiatives like the African Tourism Forum and Exhibition, the second installment in the ATF series.
