Investor interest in the hotel construction project is evident, with various parties expressing their enthusiasm.

ACZ’S CEO Tawanda Gusha Provides Updates on Progress

Tawanda Gusha, the CEO of ACZ, reported this week that while interest from potential investors has been received, progress has been slower than expected. However, Gusha reassured that alternative initiatives are being pursued to move the hotel construction forward.

In the preceding year, Airports Company of Zimbabwe’s CEO Tawanda Gusha had also announced the interest of an international leisure brand in spearheading the construction of the hotel at RGM International Airport. Proposals were submitted to the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency, marking a significant step in advancing the project.

In contrast to neighboring South Africa, where major hotels strategically enhance travel convenience near airports such as Oliver Tambo International Airport, the RGM International Airport aims to follow suit.

Why Airport Hotels are Important for Travelers

Constructing hotels near airports is essential for enhanced travel convenience. Proximity to airports reduces transit time for travelers, offering a seamless experience, especially for those with tight schedules or layovers. Airport hotels cater to weary travelers, providing rest and amenities without venturing far. This proximity also benefits business and leisure travelers by saving time on transportation, making them a preferred choice. Additionally, airport hotels stimulate local economies, creating job opportunities and fostering tourism. Ultimately, the strategic placement of hotels near airports aligns with the modern need for efficient, time-saving, and comfortable travel experiences. That is why Airports Company of Zimbabwe is also seeking investors to complete their airport hotel project.
