Airports Company of Zimbabwe Seeks Investors for RGM Airport Hotel
AIRPORTS COMPANY OF ZIMBABWE (ACZ) PURSUES INVESTORS FOR RGM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HOTEL, UPDATES ON PROGRESS, AND SEEKS TO EMULATE SOUTH AFRICA’S SUCCESSFUL AIRPORT-HOTEL STRATEGY FOR ENHANCED TRAVEL CONVENIENCE.
The Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) is actively seeking investors for a hotel project at Robert Gabriel Mugabe (RGM) International Airport, undergoing a significant transformation into a versatile aviation facility.
Investor interest in the hotel construction project is evident, with various parties expressing their enthusiasm.
ACZ’S CEO Tawanda Gusha Provides Updates on Progress
Tawanda Gusha, the CEO of ACZ, reported this week that while interest from potential investors has been received, progress has been slower than expected. However, Gusha reassured that alternative initiatives are being pursued to move the hotel construction forward.
“Despite limited movement, we are conducting a feasibility study and exploring potential partnerships for the hotel project,” stated Gusha. They will disclose further details in due course.
In the preceding year, Airports Company of Zimbabwe’s CEO Tawanda Gusha had also announced the interest of an international leisure brand in spearheading the construction of the hotel at RGM International Airport. Proposals were submitted to the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency, marking a significant step in advancing the project.
In contrast to neighboring South Africa, where major hotels strategically enhance travel convenience near airports such as Oliver Tambo International Airport, the RGM International Airport aims to follow suit.
