Hyatt Hotels Shift Towards Luxury and Lifestyle in EAME Region
Across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, Hyatt Hotels Corporation experienced remarkable growth in 2022, with 45 percent of all properties that joined the global hotel corporation last year located in the region. The corporation predicts that the EAME region will continue to grow in 2023, with 10 percent of its future pipeline planned for the area. Among the pipeline, nearly one-fourth comprises lifestyle hotels.
Hyatt has doubled its luxury rooms, tripled the number of resorts, and quadrupled the number of lifestyle rooms in the EAME region in the past five years, signaling a shift away from business travel-oriented properties. The Inclusive Collection, once known as the AMR Collection, added twenty European resorts to its portfolio in December 2022. The Collection plans to open five new resorts in Bulgaria between 2023 and 2024 and another resort in Portugal in 2024.
In Germany, Hyatt will integrate over 30 ‘Lindner Hotels & Resorts’ and ‘me and all hotels’ properties into the World of Hyatt program and introduce the JDV by Hyatt brand. Hyatt plans to open two Hyatt Regency resorts in the summer of 2023: the Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort in Bulgaria and the Hyatt Regency Resort Kotor Bay in Montenegro. The Grand Hyatt La Manga Club and Resort will open in Spain later this year, while The Unbound Collection will celebrate three openings between 2023 and 2024.

Javier guila, Group President EAME of Hyatt, said, “Through Hyatt’s growth with intent strategy, we have built a luxury, lifestyle, and leisure portfolio that is among the best in the industry. We are particularly proud of our regional contribution to our global growth journey, as 45 percent of the 120 hotels that joined our portfolio were located here. Over the next few years, I am confident that EAME will continue to contribute significantly to Hyatt’s global growth. Owners appreciate our combination of personal connections, strong brands, and global performance track record.
