Sarova Hotels & Resorts Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence

SAROVA HOTELS & RESORTS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF SERVICE EXCELLENCE, HIGHLIGHTING ITS LEGACY OF QUALITY, INNOVATION, AND SUSTAINABILITY IN KENYA’S TOURISM INDUSTRY.

In April 2024, Sarova Hotels & Resorts proudly commemorated five decades of exceptional service, tracing its roots back to 1974. Founded by G.S. Vohra, Mohinder Singh Vohra, and John Ngata Kariuki, the brand’s name “SAROVA” derives from the initials of their wives’ names.

From its beginnings with the Ambassadeur Hotel acquisition in 1974, Sarova has grown to encompass nine properties across Kenya. From Nairobi to Mombasa, Nakuru to Masai Mara, each location offers guests a unique experience deeply rooted in Kenyan culture.

Expansion and Innovation: A Legacy of Quality

In 2023, Sarova Hotels introduced Thai Chi by Sarova. That is its first standalone specialty restaurant in Nairobi, extending the legacy of Thai Chi Restaurant at Sarova Stanley. This expansion reflects Sarova’s commitment to continuous innovation and meeting the evolving needs of its guests.

A cornerstone of Sarova’s success lies in its dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace. Through sustainable practices Sarova ensures a brighter future for Kenya’s tourism industry.
