Club Med, the renowned all-inclusive specialist, is enhancing its South African venture by adding a safari lodge alongside the previously announced Club Med Tinley on the Dolphin Coast. This move aims to offer guests a dual beach and safari experience.

An 80-room lodge is currently under development within a Big-5 Game Reserve, conveniently located 3.5 hours by road or a quick 40-minute flight from ClubMed Tinley. The lodge will be meticulously designed to meet Club Méditerranée high standards.

Details Unveiled: Club Med Tinley’s Debut

Club Med is partnering with Collins Residential Consortium to bring ClubMed Tinley to life. Situated on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal, this resort will embrace a surf-lifestyle concept, infused with local art and culture.

Club Med Tinley will offer a total of 400 keys, including premium rooms and exclusive collection accommodations. Guests in the exclusive spaces will enjoy access to a private lounge area, bar, pool, and a wide array of exclusive services.

Families can delight in kids’ clubs with certified staff catering to children of all ages. Active holidaymakers will find a diverse range of land and water activities, including Club Med’s first Surf School. Wellness enthusiasts can indulge in a spa, fitness center, yoga school, and an adult-only Zen pool and bar.

Local Investment: A Boost for the Community

Club Med Tinley represents a significant investment exceeding 2 billion rand and enjoys support from South African debt funders and equity partners. The construction is set to commence in early 2024, with the resort opening slated for around July 2026.

Club Méditerranée commits to eco-certifying its new resorts, aiming for a four-star rating from the Green Building Council of SA. The resort will also adhere to Green Globe standards, promoting sustainable tourism practices and reducing plastic usage.

International Prestige: A Visionary Approach

Henri Giscard d’Estaing, Club Méditerranée president, expressed a commitment to creating value for local communities and enhancing the international reputation. Murray Collins, CEO of Collins Residential, emphasized celebrating natural assets while preserving destination authenticity.

In addition to this South African expansion, ClubMed is also planning Club Med Essaouira in western Morocco, set to welcome guests with 350 keys in Q2 2024
