The Motswari Private Game Reserve has launched the African Retreat by Motswari this month. Located in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, this new addition offers a unique wellness experience in South Africa’s Greater Kruger Park. The African Retreat adds to Motswari’s existing accommodations, including Geiger’s Camp, Giraffe’s Nest, and the Motswari Private Game Reserve.

Unique Accommodations for Ultimate Relaxation
The retreat features four private bungalows, each decorated to inspire and delight guests. The Maroela and Tamboti Superior Bungalows offer stunning views of the riverbed. These bungalows, 30 to 40 square meters in size, blend seamlessly with nature and include luxury amenities such as 300-thread count sheets and private outdoor decks.
The two Luxury Bungalows, Mopani and Ebony, provide even more space and comfort. Mopani Bungalow offers 40 square meters with bush views and a private daybed area, while Ebony Bungalow boasts a 50-square-meter space with a deck overlooking the riverbed. All rooms include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and luxury bathroom amenities.
The communal lodge area of African Retreat by Motswari, nestled in the bush, overlooks an infinity pool and deck. It includes a yoga and meditation area, a library nook, an outdoor spa, and a dining boma with an open-air firepit.
Wellness Experiences for Mind-Body Harmony
Guests can book three- or four-day wellness retreats curated by Wellness Retreat Facilitator, Roeline Hansen. These holistic retreats include meditative movement practices such as breathwork, yoga, tai chi, and qigong. The outdoor spa offers treatments and outdoor bathing experiences.
Guests can also enjoy fireside storytelling, stargazing, and intention-setting journaling at African Retreat by Motswari. Other activities include meditation, art therapy, and educational workshops. Visitors have the opportunity to experience the Greater Kruger National Park during a game drive that incorporates wellness practices.
